About

Masupatsela Series II showcases trailblazing individuals, communities, organisations and businesses who are taking the initiative and making a difference to South African lives. Whereas Series I focused on pioneers working in the field of HIV and AIDS only, Series II casts its net wider and finds trailblazers in a variety of fields. Our trailblazing Masupatsela of Series II are making a positive difference in the lives of South Africans. The difference they are making can be at a very immediate level or at a broader more general level; they can be making a difference to their neighbours’ lives, or to the lives of more people that they do not know directly.

These Masupatsela are showing us the way because they astutely identified a need, were sensitive and thoughtful enough to develop a solution, and most importantly were committed and energetic enough to follow through and execute their ideas. Their unflagging commitment to following through is what sets them apart from the rest. Some of our featured Masupatsela have very few resources, while others have everything they need at their fingertips, but they all have a magnanimous and caring spirit.

Through this 26 part series we learn what the catalysts were that compelled our Masupatsela to act and we get a glimpse into their lives and the work that they do that bolsters and feeds those around them. Their resourcefulness and energy provide a template for the rest of us to follow, and a chance for us to offer our services or donate resources to help them in the remarkable work they do. In a small way, it’s possible for each one of us to also contribute to making a little difference in someone’s life.

This 26 part series will be broadcast on SABC 2 in two parts:
