Studio Shoot
Trailblazers! We have completed our first studio shoot.
Not having the full budget for all our great ideas and a studio shoot, posed some problems. We toyed with the idea of shooting in someone’s garage and painting it the required green. Trying to avoid more work than necessary, however, we managed to secure a deal with the good people at UCT Television Studio in the basement of the Baxter Theatre. So, our green screen became a blue screen with studio lighting at our fingertips. Although green screening is more popular, we have read that the blue screen spill (if it happens) is less objectionable on screen than the green spill. Blue is also the complementary / opposite colour to flesh tone and so the logical choice to avoid conflicts.
As trailblazers are always looking for a silver lining, we found a few.
We need the studio shoots for our presenter links. We will be filming the episode links in studio over the coming months and then inserting a map of South Africa and video montage behind her.
You can meet the team through the images we have posted below of Friday’s shoot.
